My Seagate firewire drive is making a barely audible steady click about once every 1-2 seconds. Its getting onto my recordings. Does anyone know what this could be and how to stop it?

I had the same problem except that it was not getting to my recordings and I found that the cause for the noise had to do with the fact that my house had no ground. When I went to other locations with good power it went away. Try testing your power. Hope this helps.

That worked.
However, my outlets do not show lack of ground or a problem in the wiring. It may be that the problem resolved when I tried it in an outlet not shared with any of my music equipment. |
