Always delayed with SBBOD

I've suddenly started having a very serious problem with my PTs setup. Whenever I try to do anything, the system hangs for a couple seconds, I get the SBBOD and then it works. So for example, I'm trying to edit some parts and I hit the spacebar to playback and it hangs for a second. I try to record and it hangs for a couple seconds. Everything hangs. I can't get anything done.

I also had my first PTs crash ever the other day. I've tried looking at logs and I can't see anything that seems problematic. I had a similar problem when I first got my 1.5TB Seagate drives but a firmware update fixed the problem. I haven't made any changes to my OS or PTs or anything that I can think of. It's possible that I've installed another app or something and that's causing some problems.

I could really use some help trying to troubleshoot this. It seems to come and go. I can restart and it works for a while but then it comes back.
