Default HELP PT LE 8 bouncing and mastering!

I just got the mbox 2 mini and i have PT LE 8. I've been messin around w it for a month now but i can't for the life of me find out how to get a bounced final product of my sessions. For instance i have a session w/ 8 different tracks and i tried bouncing to disk and put them all on one new track (i think?) and converted to wav during the bounce but the wav file just will not play on my computer. I've tried using a converter to convert the so called wav file to mp3 but it wouldn't convert it. Any help is much appreciated.

Bounce to disc settings for playback in consumer audio applications and for CD compilation:

Stereo Interleaved
16 bit - 44.1khz
.wav files

Most general audio app's (Media Player, etc.) cannot deal with higher bit and sample rates.
And 16/44.1 is the audio CD standard.

As for Mastering in general... please understand it's sorta like walking up to a 747 and asking someone to teach you how to fly it.... today.
Unrealistic. It's a very deeeeep subject.
Google is a great place to start the education process, though.

Good luck.

What do you mean when you say the bounced file will not play?
Make sure you bounce it to a file format, sample rate and bit depth that your MP3 converter can manage.

If we leave out dithering for now just try a bounce to 44 KHz, 16Bit, stereo interleaved WAV.
Then convert that file to MP3. The wave file should also play ok before MP3 conversion in most apps.

When you've got this working, depending on what frequency and bit-depth your session is in, you may want
to consider dithering and/or sample rate convertion inside PT or outside - lots of info on this in the net.

I hade a bouncing problem when loop-playback and countoff was on, with mostly midi-tracks.

The play-pause issue occured for the bounce for a while, but when it dropped, the resulting file was without sound - no sound during bounce either but the time on the bounce dialog shows progress.

Playing would give sound on Master 1-2, but bounce not.

Cheers,
- J
