Another Folder Track bug: Solo cleared when folding track in Mix window

It actually makes sense that closing a folder would un-solo it's internals.

Also too bad this thread was a little hijacked by a user trying again to claim that routing folders are a mess because tracks dropped into them are not automatically re-reouted to the folder's output - which is again not their point as routing folders can contain tracks routed anywhere!

it would be handy to have shortcut to change the tracks output to the routing folder (f.ex. all drums..) when dragging them into it

That's my bad, this is clearly a totally different issue. But surely one questioning post isn't a thread hijack is it?

Case Number 03918919 Folding a folder track in Mix window clears solos

Feedback from AVID (2020-10-30): I got update from Engineering team regarding this issue. They have confirmed that this is working by design and currently a design limitation but there is optimization planned in this area which will be added in the future release.


Today I was running into this again in an attempt to start adopting Folders again in my template.
I wonder if any of the promised 'optimizations' have been delivered by now.
Doesn't look like it and I still find it very confusing.
Really trying to understand why they implemented it in this way and what are the possible (if any) benefits.
