I thought that Columbus called that America?
Actually Columbus only got as far as the West Indies, which is why they named the continent not after him, but after Amerigo Vespucci (hope I spelt it right). It's shameful that an Englishman should have to tell you this.

(Damn I really wish we hadn't given those colonies away, and all over a bit of tax on tea!)

There's one pad that Baz is setting up that boasts ""Trappers Cabin" top floor theme room: Authentic decor includes bear and coyote skins."

I'll be doing the film fest in Toronto first, then Baz takes me on a tour of things Canadian. I hear the redneck ladies are keen on a bit of Englishman over there (I hope it's the same bit I'm thinking of...).

Actually, if anyone wants to come and say hello en-route for a beer...

I know Baz is keen on our all meeting up. I'll allow him to co-ordinate. I can see he's a born trapper (is that the right terminology? I'm trying...)

No, I'm serious. I need help with the language. I don't mind the girls saying,"Gee, you're so cute. Have you met the Queen?" "Well, actually, she's a sort-of second aunt." But I need some street cred when scoring a cab (am I getting it?).

Baz, I think you should put a link up of that ad I sent you...

Must get my own server.
Hey, my Yahoo mailbox has shot up from 25MB to 2GB! And Daisy's free one [email protected] (drop her a line, but nothing nasty - see how trusting I am?) has gone up to 100MB. I never need to clear out my mailbox again. Is this a hint of a future where nothing is ever deleted? Nowdays I kind of rely on old indiscretions being forgotten...

Well the adventure has finally begun.Picked Karel up at the airport last night in the middle of an incredible hail and thunder storm. It was unreal driving down the freeway.Welcome to Alberta..
As we speak Karel is still sleeping after drinking some of that skunky swill that the English call beer.
We arrived at my acreage after dark, so he still has no idea where he is.He is in for a shock when he wakes up.As we where getting out of the car he asked me "what's that noise".I don't think he has ever heard the kind of silence that we have here.

Today we are off to the Rocky Mountains..If we have internet access I will try and keep you all posted.

I'm sure he will probably add a few lines when he gets up.

must have been a pisswarm Molson product...that stuff actually can make you go blind and permanently disable any remaining brain functions...
A quick and effective antidote: a well chilled Guinness After and/or before the moose, of course.

cheers,
