How to keep timeline selection using "back and play"

Cmd+Opt+Left arrow makes the playback start from the beginning of the edit selection minus preroll. I'd like it to start from the "play start marker" minus "Back/Forward Amount" in Preferences/Operation/Transport. Typically what "Back and play" does but without the loss of the timeline selection.

Yes, I understand. It is, at best, a workaround.
