Single Kick sample variations, Any tricks?
I have a song in Protools with some sampled drums and I want to do some variations on the sound of one of the kick samples so it sounds more live. Any thoughts, tricks, or tips on the subject?

Re: Single Kick sample variations, Any tricks?
You might try isolating the beater slap on a second track, and putting a slow moving flange with low feedback. That way, each hit has a different personality in the treble range without mucking up the low end?
This is a great trick for animating static conga samples too. It works well on electric piano too, just flanging the tines. |
