Default Changing Sample Rate On An Exisiting PT Session???

Is it possible to change the sample rate within a currently active Pro Tools session?

I've been using a bunch of older templates to record on and they are all set to 16 bit/44.1 hz.

I've put a ton of time into creating these templates and I'd like to know if there is a simple way to reset the recording rate to something higher.

Cheers,

Jay

CC from New Orleans, you the man!!

And maybe you'll be a prime candidate for the soon to be vacant Saints head coaching job.

Cheers,

Jay

One last thing, what is the "average"/"recommended" sample rate and bit depth that all of your recording professionals prefer? I'd like to keep files sizes down without sacrificing audio quality, so I'd appreciate any suggestions that will give me the most bang for my buck.

Most records are done at either 44.1kHz or 96kHz sampling rate, 24 bit. Video work is done at 48kHz.

Ditto. I've never received anything at 88.2k. It's always 96 or 44.1 for audio only...and always 48 when I'm doing something with video. It doesn't mean that other rates aren't accepted by various media standards (DVD-Audio can support 44.1, 48, and the 2x and 4x sample rates), just that they are extremely rare.

Thanks Rail and CC.

Rail, I'm moving to LA very soon. Keep me posted if there any "cool" musical events that I should know about.
