My Audio speed is wrong. Sample rate different than session
my partner is doing the recording in audacity and I am doing the editing and mastering in pro tools. When I load the file from audacity into protools, off of the google drive we share, it sounds like the sample rate is faster. I get an error that says "one or more of the files you have selected to add have different sample rates than the session. these files will play back at the wrong speed do you want to continue?"
My partner is recording at 44.1 K Hz and my session also says 44.1 K Hz. Can anyone tell me what they think the issue could be? |

Re: My Audio speed is wrong. Sample rate different than session
Sounds like your interface is at a different sample rate.

Re: My Audio speed is wrong. Sample rate different than session
More to consider:
1-is anything connected to the interface via digital? If the extra device is at the wrong sample rate, your entire session might be clocked incorrectly. 2-open Preferences and make sure you have it set to Automatically Copy Audio on Import and to covert sample rate to session sample rate on import. To fix it, create a blank session at 48Kand import the audio(or session data) but set it to NOT apply SRC(sample rate conversion). Given you have a 44.1K session that sounds fast, its likely being clocked at 48K(either now, or when it was recorded)

Re: My Audio speed is wrong. Sample rate different than session
Hi, welcome to the community.
What ^^ Dave said, and the sample rate mismatch may very well be on your partner's end not yours, so just try to fix it by importing to "wrong" sampling rate session without SRC.

Re: My Audio speed is wrong. Sample rate different than session
Are you dragging and dropping the files into the session or using the import audio mode?
