Can I get another year of monthly sub before current one has expired?

I am currently a monthly subscriber for the Teacher version of Pro Tools. My current year is up in January. I'd like to take advantage of the Black Friday sales and purchase another year of subscription. Can I purchase this before my current year is expired?

If I do, does it just automatically tack on another year of my current one, or do I need to wait to re-subscribe until the current sub is ending?
