Default A friend says he installed HEAT on an HD-Native system?

I've been trying to find more details....to be clear he actually saw it running. To be clear, NOT just a native system with 3rd-party hardware, but HD-NATIVE.

I was under the impression that HEAT ran on DSP systems only. All forum searches I've made so far seem to say it's not possible. Has anything changed? Sorry for sowing confusion--but this would be a significant consideration in my upgrade plans.

Ask your friend where he got it.

I'd say it's a 99.9% likelihood that your friend is confused about what he saw

Fair enough. I'm just as confused. My friend is the guy who was hired to do the install for somebody else--years of experience with PT going back to SoundTools. He says HEAT was included with the upgrade to HD-Native from some legacy package. His take is that the PT10 launch was so massive and confusing along with all the new system requirements and plug-in formats that even a lot of the Avid people who are supposed to know were confused.

For me, I always thought HEAT was DSP-only, end of story. But I was just curious if anybody else had heard of this.....

You can install heat on a HDN system but it won't work.
You can install heat with an MBOX system - same result.

This is what I'm thinking, that no flags came up during the install, but that it wasn't tested in operation. Still waiting for clarification.....

I'm confused as to why everyone seems to find this so hard to believe.

I certainly assume that heat is a bunch of software code that was written to process on a computer chip, just so happens that chip is on a HD or HDX card. But are not plug-ins the same basic principle. Implementation difference aside the software coding of processing audio is possible on a computer CPU and on a specific processing card.

I'm skeptical that it is actually implemented at this point but I'm not one who categorically thinks this not possible.
