Default td-9 with ezdrummer-hihat issue

So I got my td-9sx kit to trigger drums correctly in pro tools using the ezdrummer plug. the only issue is that the hi-hat does not trigger correctly. It seems to use the open-hat sound even when the pedal is depressed. I know there are issues with hi-hat triggering but i have not found any detailed instructions. is it just a matter of midi map tweaking? all other sounds work great, toms, kick, snare,cymbals,etc.....

Thanks
