A definitely "vintage"-style setup then, that's great!

Sprung for the Blue Cat Vibe - great plugin. Tried it in Late Replies on the input, output and the feedback loops of Late Replies. That did not go well. No matter the position and using the default preset the effect was almost inaudible; could hear it but the strength was WAY down as compared to running it after Late Replies in a separate insert.

Uni-Vibe is indeed a rather subtle effect that works better on smooth signals, so it would indeed probably sound good on reverb tails but a bit too thin on individual delay taps.

Could be but I was surprised that even when Polyvibe was in a slot at the output of Late Replies the effect was less pronounced than if it was the next plugin in the insert chain outside of Late Replies. That shouldn't make any difference. Not talking about volume but depth of effect - much less when in a slot (not in a feedback loop) in an output insert in Late Replies than when it's outside of Late Replies in a PT insert slot.

I had the opposite experience. I bought an HX so I wouldn’t have to take my cheap when I bought them now crazy pedalboard out.

Klon, Fender Reverb Unit, DM-2, sg-1, CE-1 and pn-2.

HX doing the same chain didn’t sound good let alone close. Plus it didn’t switch my SLO-100 and L6 sent it back to me ‘fixed’ and it still didn’t.

I think if you’re not putting it next to the real stuff the HX is probably cool. I found it hard to use and sound was meh.

All the effects in Late Replies only apply to the "Wet" (delayed or reverberated signal"), so placing the UniVibe plug-in after it in the chain indeed does a different job, as it applies to both the dry and wet signals.

Thanks - that explains a lot. Looks like I'll be using Polyvibe as a separate effect after Late Replies just like I would if it were a stompbox.
