Default MBOX is frozen/all lit up

I have been using my Mbox with Mac OS9 on my I Book. Yesterday I was working with Pro Tools all day without problems. (However, I did notice that the USB area of my I Book was getting quite warm.) I had also imported in the morning about 35 minutes of sound, which, for me, is quite a lot.

In the evening I unplugged my MBox. When I went to plug it in again a few minutes later, all the lights on the Mbox lit up and have stayed that way. When I try to run Pro Tools I get an error message saying that it's not connected to the USB. But it is connected to the USB and too many lights remain lit up on my MBbox. Help please!

Shut down the computer then restart, plug in the Mbox...what happens then?

Rebooting and plugging my Mbox back in has not helped. All the lights on Mbox still stay lit and Pro Tools prompts me to plug in my Mbox..even though I have already.

I must admit I'm not very technically savvy. I took a quick browse to see if I could find any possible updates but I'm not sure where to go. Is there a link somone could provide, which shows Mbox updates? Many thanks for your help.
