Even though I'm not using PT on my notebook I like to have it there just in case. Of course it installs so much crap that it screws with the audio programs I do use. It has been recommended here that you can remove one of the Digi MIDI drivers because it screws with things, so I did that.
So I decide to get rid of some of the other stuff I'm not going to use, one of them being the Eleven Rack preference pane. But when I remove it I get this filling up my console log; 4/16/10 10:38:32 PM com.apple.launchd[1] (com.digidesign.elevenrack.helper[2064]) posix_spawn("/Library/PreferencePanes/Digidesign Eleven Rack.prefPane/Contents/Resources/LaunchdDaemon", ...): No such file or directory 4/16/10 10:38:32 PM com.apple.launchd[1] (com.digidesign.elevenrack.helper[2064]) Exited with exit code: 1 4/16/10 10:38:32 PM com.apple.launchd[1] (com.digidesign.elevenrack.helper) Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds over and over. So I have to leave it. Seriously, does it seem like a smart idea to install that for every PTLE user, and have no way to remove it? You think maybe an overwhelming majority of PTLE users will also have an Eleven Rack? That kind of thinking is amazing. Doesn't it make a little more sense to install that when you actually buy an Eleven Rack? I removed the mbox2 preference panes too, I don't have one of those either. Are you going to start adding preference panes and drivers for every piece of gear that Avid makes now? I've given you money for a product (mini and PTLE8) I'm probably not ever going to use, mostly because I'm tired of nonsense like this. Can't you at least make it so it doesn't cause problems when I've never even run it? bb |
