Try this:
Go to the Device Manager, and disable the Dell Wireless 1395 WLAN Mini-Card before you launch Pro Tools. See if this doesn't fix your interrupt problem. You can re-enable your wireless network card when you are finished using Pro Tools. |

My 2c
- disable wireless and internal audio - I assume you record to your firewire drive! - your Ram modules differ, I don't know if they run in Dual mode - check your system with the DPC latency checker - check if there is Bios update

I did that and the results are the same Quote:
I will disable the wireless and internal audio and see what happens, -the DPC latency checker, I just found out what it is. I will run that as well and see what happens. ![]() -I will also check for the bios update and come back here and repost. Thank you so much for trying to help guys, I really need this to work soon for some offsite recordings. -Cosme- oh yeah, here's a screen recording of what is happening: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HtR-Q4JNF5Q Last edited by Mekko511; 10-11-2009 at 02:24 PM. Unfortunately I will have to continue this troubleshooting when I get home in the morning at 4am. It's time for me to go to work and I was so tempted to call out!
But, at work I might be able to do a little more research and see if I have any more options when I get home in the morning. Because the only option I see right now is buying a new macbook pro that I cannot afford ![]() ![]() It's a shame. That I'm having this problem on a new PC. My 6yr old mac G4 with PT 7.4 is still Rock Solid. I can record 32 tracks at 128 without a blink! Too bad I can't drag that out to the field with the digi002 board everywhere I go! Alright so I guess I'll be back! Thank you, -Cosme- |

Cosme,
I loved your video on YouTube. I think we all have gone through the same thing. This should be required viewing for anyone considering buying PT LE. LOL. Now, have you carefully worked thorugh, http://duc.digidesign.com/showthread.php?t=133039? You certainly need to disable all thats been recommended to this point. I also see your system drive is 5400 versus 7200 rpm. This may be a problem (maybe not). The root of the problem (IMO) is communications speed with the drives during recording. The Firewire is notoriusly problematic, so read the tread specifically on this point to be sure you have a compatible FW drive and interface. Oh and by the way, what ever software and drivers you are runing to allow you to capture the PT screen during recording, be sure to disable that also.... Good luck,

It appears that you are not running a qualified Firewire controller with a TI chipset. Dell firewire controllers are notoriously problematic with PT.
Some users have had issues with mixed RAM. Try using one brand and spread them evenly in dual channel mode. And yes, disable the wireless. If you are running a virus program you might try disabling that too.

I'm not running a qualified firewire controller? hmm... I didn't think that was an issue since I don't have a problem editing HD Video from and to that firewire hard drive with no problem for the past 3 months or so. I guess I can look at that after I rule out the RAM situation. I noticed the mix RAM. I was wondering about that? That's how Dell shipped it to me. I did disable the wireless and McAfee and had no change. So I guess it's operation time when I get home in the morning ![]() So I'll try to get another Elpida 2GB DDR2 and replace the Hynix (Hyundai) HYMP112S64CP6-Y5 1GB DDR2 SO-DIMM. in the mean time if anyone else has any other info please post. I should be home by 4am to continue the troubleshooting. thanks all, -Cosme- |

I think that more importantly than looking at the RAM, you'd better sort out: WDC WD2500BEVS-75UST0 (250GB, SATA150, 2.5", 5400rpm, NCQ, 8MB Cache) : 233GB (C:) (D:)
5400 rpm drives are no good for PT.. and you have ONE 5400 rpm drive for both your C&D drives. To which is your OS installed? To which is PT installed? To which are you recording to? To which is your content installed? As Tom pointed out, your firewire is probably an issue. Wireless is an issue. Lastly, you could be getting some issues from your video card, and from your on-board sound card. Fixing any single one of these might make an improvement, but it's likely that you will have to fix most, if not all of them. Peace!
