High Guys,
I’m getting these errors "the OS has held off interrupts for too long" errors 9092 9093 and 9094I’ve recently upgraded my Mbox running PTLE 7.3cs1….for a 003 rack factory running PTLE 7.4 cs3 now I get errors when I play back and record… making the thing unusable Ive done a quick surf of the forums and have found that it could be my onboard FIREWIRE (yes it’s a VIA) Could this be the issue ?.. ive never had errors using my mbox (USB) on my current PC configuration so im assuming that the onboard firewire is to blame…. The next question is: what firewire adaptors are you guys using? i doubt I can get the digidesign recommended ones quickly Any help would be much appreciated Cheers Mike |

You need to get a FW card that has the same TI chip as the Digi approoved ones (you'll need to figure that out - try google). I was lucky enogh to have 2 of those lying around one of them did the trick. after you install it disable onboard FW in the BIOS and you should be good to go.

I had a similar problem with a system. At first I blamed Pro Tools.
Then I discovered the cause. Download and run this DPC Latncy checker. http://www.thesycon.de/deu/latency_check.shtml If you are seeing any red spikes in the output of the test, then follow the directions given with the tool to try to make them go away. In my case they just would not go away whatever I did. I talked Dell into swapping the system. No more spikes when running the test, and no more Pro Tools problems. If the system for whatever reason is generating Deferred Procedure Call (DPC) spikes, they break the audio stream and Pro Tools spits out an error. |

Can you tell us which steps in the Win XP/ Pro Tools 6.x/7.x General Troubleshooting thread you've tried?
Also, can we get a Sandra report, per the info in that thread? |
