To be honest when I started using Mojave dark mode seemed very cool. With time though I find it boring and not really pleasing. It just feels somewhat basic. I've gone back to light mode. This whole flat trend is really dull. Logic pre-10.3 looked so polished by comparison...

I don't think Pro Tools needs a specific dark mode, the GUI has already enough grays on it and is fine. Windows and dialogs will have to follow the system appearance at some point though.

However if Pro Tools had the same GUI elements as MC that would be awesome!

Yes ProTools is already a lot darker than it used to be. FWIW I still miss the retina-shattering super whiteness of pre-v8.

If it's optional, then I don't care. Personally I use Night Shift with my monitors. Easier to look long days without so much blue light.

Almost every other DAW has been destroyed by these debilitating, overly busy dark on dark GUI's.

S1 was ruined in V3, Logic in X, Cubase in 9.. so sick of it.

If avid listens to this and does something like it, WITHOUT it being optional, i'll freak. This is what concerns me and why I always fight against it, cause there is no guarantee they'd leave the current GUI for people that love it as is.

Please don't ruin the best DAW GUI just to follow the trend. Same with folders, it's hard to imagine what their going to do without ruining the mixer window.

Dark mode eh! I’ll start making freak’n emo music yikes!!!!!

What I would like...... any chance Avid could do something with the on screen mouse pointer for us older types with slightly failing eyesight..... something like perhaps giving it a lil fluorescent glow maybe...... especially when your working the edit window....

Doesn't MC also have a much darker colour palette and more earthy tones? The reason imaging apps are coloured like that is to heighten focus on your work material.
It of course depends on the implementation, darker tones does not equal flatness and I agree there is an inherent danger in that happening, because contrast, shadows and icons have to be communicated differently in some cases.

Yes, MC offers full customization of the interface, track colors, bins, clips, etc... it's pretty quick to adjust too.
