MC Screen Udpate Question
I was wondering why only 7 of the 8 knobs on the MC Control will open on the Nuendo screen. If I push the EQ knob on the MC Control, the EQ rack opens in the mixer and the EQ control opens in the Project window. This is the same for EVERY other function except Dynamics. Even with a channel compressor activated in an N7 channel, when you press the knob on the MC Control, all you get are the controls on the MC's window, not the DAW's. The channel strip with the compressor does not drop down in the Mixer or the channel strip in the project window. Does anybody know why that is?

Re: MC Screen Udpate Question
What's up with that? Why'd they single out that particular function (LOL)? Why not Pan? Nobody wwould care about pan. But channel dynamics, that we use all the time! Does it work in PT, do they get all 8 out of 8?

Re: MC Screen Udpate Question
Hi
To be honest, using this "soft knobs rotary encoders" on the Artis Control mainly *NOT* for the function DYN. BUT If I know test it - Cubase Mixer - Press "STRIP" on the Artist Control - Press "NoiseGat" on the Artist Control -> Are able to manipulate the respective parameters - Push "BACK" on the Artis Control - Push "DYN" on the Artist Control -> Voilà: Can manipulate the "NoiseGat" on the Channel Strip of the Cubase Mixer What is the problem with that? Did I miss the point? Are you expecting a different result? Cheers

You are correct that the soft key will perform the same function. But, since the touch screen isn't really that great, theoretically, the knob is the better bet on activating the chosen function. Also, you'd have to have a template with every noise gate and compressor already open in order to make it a one touch button/key/knob function. You do not have to do that with the EQ. The knob activates the EQ, the EQ is already open in the channel strip (or is the default window in the full channel view) and it will open from the project window view. I'm trying to figure out how they decided that the compressor section was LESS IMPORTANT than panning, since that can be opened from a knob as well. Maybe it's just a 3rd Party DAW thing. Does it work that way in PT, or will the channel comps open automatically like the other seven functions? |
