Default 5.1 track format view

I'm only just starting to get to grips with using multitrack tracks in PT7.4, so forgive me if I'm getting this wrong.

Could someone please confirm if the following is the way it works at the moment?

I can set up my I/O routing to be either "film", "SMTPE" or "DTS" (I choose "SMPTE" so my track layout is how I am used to it - L,R,C,LFE,Ls,Rs) and PT has templates etc to make this easier...

BUT, the on-screen display (both of the track order and of the level bargraphs) is ALWAYS in the "film" order. Is that how it is?

It's doing my head in a bit. Is there any likelyhood that this might change in a future update, so that setting the default 5.1 layout in the new session or I/O setup dialogs will affect the view as well?

Also, can I really only drag audio regions into these 5.1 tracks in blocks of six and in the exact order they appear in the regions list?

Yes. It's dumb. It's horrible and I've protested it since PT 5.1 was alpha, but to no avail. The only thing that ever made sense for a modern studio with an AES switcher was SMPTE/ITU, but did anyone ever listen? NO!

Grumble, grumble, grumble....
