Angry just add new avid artist mix = eucon problem !

after adding a new artist mix, with the setup :
1 AVID artist mix + 1 euphonix control v2 + 1 euphonix mc mix

In "Eucontrol setting" (last driver 2.6.2 and firmware 1.5.1),

In "All surfaces", shows *MC Mix available* even with all controller already added to "My Surfaces",

In "My Surfaces", controllers disappear randomly, and become *available* randomly in "All Surfaces". Had to add them again in "My surfaces".

Problems occur in OSX everytime, sometimes in WIN7.

Network config checked, changed, (with / without a new switch).

NO PROBLEM BEFORE WITH 1 CONTROL V2 (EUPHONIX) + 1 MC MIX (EUPHONIX)

Please Help !

Had the same problem when I connected the devices locally (to a Mac Pro). After connecting them to my Airport Extreme (WIFi router) never had that problem again. If a switch/ router doesn't work you may want to consider entering a static IP for the devices.

Thks !

All my artists are networked to my AE
the AE is networked to my ADSL router
Have tried without The ADSL router, with / without AE:same issues...

As suggested, I' ll go for static IP and hope that will solve the problem.

Just discovered the problems may come from having Eucon on different machines. So if I disable Eucon in my PC (yes disable, not just unlink, ie close the Eucon services), while running my Macbook pro, things become more stable, but not satisfactory.

I think in my case one of the weakness of Eucon on Artist series is the network stability. And multihost (i have an I7 mbp and an I7 windows x64) The more units you have, (3 for me : 1 mc mix+1 control v2+1 artist mix), the more issues you may have. My temporary solution is to disable Eucon on the PC when I work on Mbp and vice-versa.

Yes exactly, Eucon is very good in theory be because it depends on a router it is far from ideal for stability. I always have to reboot my 4 devices multiple times.

4 units here, and no problems at all.

FWIW my router is explicitly configured with "static DHCP reservations" such that each Artist device *always* gets the same IP address.

I've found that DNS is the most stable way to run eucon and artist controllers. I just boot the computer first, then turn on the controllers and everything is great!

You sure you mean DNS, not DHCP ?

( I'm not aware the Artists do anything with DNS )
