Default Quick PT8 MIDI edit problem

Using PT8 I record a basic MIDI track via my keyboard controller. Prior to PT8 I use to use one of the tools to grab the midi notes and drag them exactly to the beginning point of the bar. With PT8 whenever I use the pencil tool, it goes into edit mode and the color of the track goes to gray. I'm able to make the edit that I want, but I can't get the track back to the way it originally was...or I can't get it out of edit mode....I want to get the track color back the way the original track was before I made the edit. Anybody know how to restore the track to the original way it was before making the edit?

You can reproduce this by recording a midi track, and then using the pencil selector and click in the track....this is where I get stuck and can't get the track back.

Thanks for the help....

I'm not in front of my system right now, but I'll try from memory.

1st, are you recording to a MIDI track or midi notes to an INSTRUMENT track?

When you go to edit the notes, and are finished... go back to the track information at the left of the track and make sure that REGIONS is selected. Editing puts it into NOTES mode. Does that help?

I'll check back this evening when I can go through the motions on my rig.

Peace!

OK, I'm home and have checked. Changing the track setting back to region from notes should do the trick for you....

Peace!
