Video Engine not working.. crashing when i load in a video to PT11

Hi all,

I'm new to this forum and this is my first post

Since i recently got pro tools 11 (ugraded from 9-10-11) it seems I just keep having one problem after another..
First I had problems with MIDI and my playback engine (mbox mini 2 ) and after many uninstalls and reinstalls i fixed those problems,

BUT NOW whenever I load up a video track into PT my whole session crashes!
It's very frustrating as i can't get anything done and I'm in a bit of pressure to have a project finished in time.

is there anyone who can help me out with this?

Hi dear,

I have been in a same trouble.
It can't launch video engine when chech the enable video engine chechbox in a window of "Playback Engine...".
I tried to activate by unuse all third party plug-ins, but it could not.

What are the details of your video track?

How much RAM do you have installed?

Do you have a dedicated graphics card, or integrated graphics?

I'm not well up on graphics cards etc..

I'm using pro tools 11, mbox mini 2, windows 7 on a Sony VPCEL laptop

do video engine drivers need to be updated or anything ?

Check out what video codecs u have in your system, sorry I don't remember exactly what folder they are in, but I had the same issue until i imported all of my FCP codecs. PT 11 comes with only a few video codecs, if you need you can download the most of QT codecs from Apple for free if I,M not mistaken. It may take a little research but now I can play almost all imported videos. hope this helps
