Actually it's OCPD, which in the normal world is a pain in the arse but for engineering has actually proven quite an asset. But as Marsdy correctly points out, you don't need to have OCPD to just want tidy session window(s).

It’s nothing to do with OCD. Many of us leave the the Colour Palette open in the obvious place over the toolbar where there’s space for it. It now obscures the bar number and marker lanes of the Edit Window. It’s poor design which requires opening and closing the Colour Palette to see the bar numbers and markers. Previously it didn’t.
Midnightrambler is the one who brought up the subject of OCD.

You still seem to be here, commenting on something you don’t care about *shrug*

I'm just pointing out that it's not a simple 5 minute couple of lines of code fix either. If the text isn't there people won't know what the arrow is for unless they read the manual and you know a lot of people don't. Combine that with it being something most people don't care about and that there are more important things for Avid to fix/worry about and you'll see where I'm coming from.

As Spock would say: the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few (or the one).

Yes I take onboard “for the many not the few” sentiment and in the grand scheme of things it’s not exactly life threatening so maybe I should just shut up about it. I will always find that “extra flap of skin” ugly though.

I have other niggling things that I can bore you with as well if you want. Just kidding. :)

Just put it up here. Then the flap is gone and we can see our timecode again.

Yes - there's a lot of places the color selector can go. That and/or only open it when you need it then close it. It's easy enough to open and close it. I'd rather that Avid fix the cpu balancing than to spend time on this. THAT'S something that's important to all of us.

I've had it top right of the edit window for years. It is (was) a great spot for it. I have spent a long time optimising my screen real estate.

Well that's what I do. But I use it all the time. It's very helpful to be always open.

I wouldn't. I never have CPU problems. But hey, maybe they could do BOTH. Wild idea I know.

+1. It's not OCD. It's a usability issue plain and simple. It's the difference between covering up or not covering up the marker tracks with something useless. The workaround is to make the Edit window shorter, which means it's showing fewer tracks at once.
