Default The Monsters Of High Gain

Premier Guitar put together 13 videos with 2 different players demonstrating the tone of 13 high gain amps. Check it out

http://www.premierguitar.com/Magazin...High_Gain.aspx

You can use these to try to model the tones on the 11R if you are so inclined.

If you dont already have a program to download Youtube style videos (.flv .f4v ect..) Donwload Realplayer for free, it comes with that ability. If you dont already have a program to pull audio from a video, Realplayer also comes with a free video converter that will pull out just the audio from a video so you can load the samples into PT. http://www.real.com/

Slap a Spectrum analyzer on there and start makin' some new presets.

If they only could use some proper guitar players

Video demonstartions can be a double-edged sword. Some benefit your product, some don't.

Anyway, thanks for sharing.

Yes! I was looking forward to getting a serious case of AAS (Amp Acquistion Syndrome) watching those videos - and a came away thinking how in hell do they manage to make 'those' amps sound horrible.

The only amp that sounded any good through those videos was the Framus Cobra!!! I mean I've heard the Mesa, ENGL, Diamond and Diezel on other vid's on the Net and been completely blown away.

Oh well, maybe I was expecting too much .

How do they make them sound so horrible? They scoop the mids for the "metal" sound. The problem with these hi-gain amps is that to me they all sound the same. The Cobra is the only one that sounds different. About two years ago I heard the "Hi-Gain Amp Shootout" on Soundclick and out of 30 different amps only about 4 amps stood out: the Diezel, 1976 Friedman modded Marshall JMP Mk II, Framus Cobra, and the SLO, and the only one I could take a steady diet of was the JMP. I'd also have liked to have heard the clean channels. You guys can easily do as well on the 11R.
