Default Urgent...help needed...please

Hello friends,

I'll need to mix a couple of tunes for a friend tomorrow. The PT side of things are covered. Some editing and an OD will be done on my home LE/PC rig, and mixing at a studio off Mac/HD 2 Accel.
However, the session is now sitting on a Mac/DP 4.12 (..???, the latest ..)system.
He is not too familiar with exporting the tracks other than OMF.
For me to work on it (LE/002), I need to use consolidated tracks, with 0;00;00 start offset.
Could some one please outline a detailed, step by step instruction just how to achieve this in DP ??
Your help is highly appreciated,
thanx in advance,
cheers,

Yes Captain,

and thanx for coming out. The dude was given an advice to "merge" in DP, but that way we could not set "zero" start times.
I have one reply on the Mac side, suggesting to BTD track per track. Apparently this is MOTUs way to "consolidate"
We will try again this afternoon...
I want my 2" back

cheers,

Andrew-
I had to do this exact same thing about 5 months ago. Bouncing each track as a .wav is the biggest pain in the ass ever. The best way to do this is to save from DP onto a FW disk that is formatted for Mac. Save the file as an OMF Interchange II file. You can then import the whole session into DP as long as you have DigiTranslator installed. I know that LE comes with a 30 day trial of this.
If you don't have it, you can still import the session, but only at 16-bit resolution.
Oh, and you need Macdrive on your pc.

Good luck,
Paul

Paul ,

Thank you so much man...I'm on the phone with the DP dude, and he is having serious issues with bounced files NOT starting at 0:00:00 !
OK...

I don't have it, neither willing to activate the demo for such a small job. My system is solid as a rock...if you know what I mean. BUT...the song in question is in 16bit on his DP now.
Please, if you are able send me an e-mail (or post back here)of the step by step process he has to go through.
There is about 18 tracks and all AU stuff had been rendered already. He is very Mac proficient, but some DP knowledge is obviously lacking...
I'd really appreciate, and will owe you a lot...

thanx

I started out with my first PT session by importing .wav files and it was not that bad. I recorded two tracks at a time to stereo L & R wav files (say bass on left and vocal on right) and then separated them into distinct tracks later in Protools (cut the transfer time in half, basically).

With only 18 tracks, that sounds a lot easier than all the contortions to your system you might be faced with. (If the client is paying for time, what's the dif?). The whole process could be done in an hour.

Of course, getting them in sync is a bit of a challenge, but certainly possible with patience.

So, what ended up happening?
