Default 6093 Errors - G5 2x2.0... odd behavior

I'm having similar problems with this set-up:

G5 2x2.0 (2nd Gen)
3.5 GB RAM
Digi 002R
OS 10.4.3
PT LE 6.9.2
UAD-1 Card (1) v4.3software
Waves 4.0 Gold
BF Plugs
Latest Digi Plugs (including EQIII and DynIIIplugs)
Buffer = 1096 / Level 2/ CPU Limit 95%

I have tried all of the OSX troublechooting recommendations; have made sure I'm compliant with all of Digi's specs.

I'm trying to understand how the system usage meters work, because my problem is pretty strange. I'll have a verb aux (running either a UAD Dreamverb of Plate 140), and I'll create a stereo send to the verb aux. All of a sudden my CPU meter will go from say 50% usage to spiking to 100% immediately and I'll get a 6093 error and a disconnect from my 002. I save the session (with the new send still on it), quit PTLE, and relaunch. All of a sudden I can mix again without a 6093 error and my CPU System Usage meter is still around 50%! My UAD meter is never above 70%, but my PTLE CPU meter gets spikes all of the time when I'm either a) putting a stereo plug in on a mono track or b) adding another send. For the most part, quitting, saving and relaunching brings me back to a workable session.

It's strange that creating one new send would double the CPU usage - any thoughts?

thanks in advance!

Have you checked compatibility with the UAD-1 card and your computer? Also, which card slot do you have the UAD-1 card in? I would recommend trying it in the slot furthest from the graphics card, as that has the highest possibility of working properly. We do not officially support use of a UAD-1 card with Pro Tools, so there may be problems there that we're unaware of.

Thanks - I believe that's where I have my card currently, but I will double check to make sure it's that far away from the graphics card. I also have heard that there are better results using a AUD card in a magma chassis... not sure if any other users have had success with this - if so, let me know!

Thanks again for the reply.
