The old pop/static on playback
Does anyone anywhere actually have a fix for this. I been running PT11/12 for the last three years on a 2017 Mac Pro. Still running El Capitan because it works, UAD Apollo 8p. the system has been flawless for four years. Until two weeks ago.
Every play/stop action triggers the horrendous pop/crack trough my genetics. Any thing I try recording/analogue/midi it's there. Also on older sessions. Nothing at all has changed on my system. I have done the following. Buffer adjustment. Disabled network cards. fresh install of PT 11/12.3.1 Tested with only the Mac Pro and ilok with no external hardware. DC. High pass. pre roll fade in. moved to a different building with a separate power supply. I have no junk like FB on the Mac, it's clean for work only. I am currently talking to Avid to see if I can upgrade to 12.5-7 men though my upgrade just expired. But if anyone found a real solution to this then please share it. I don't appreciate replies asking me why I'm usual what I'm using. Thanks |

Re: The old pop/static on playback
12.6 is a paid upgrade
12.4 saw the peak of Noise Blasts complaints on the DUC Ask Avid for an Installer for Pro Tools 12.5.1 or Pro Tools 12.5.2 for HDX, where it appears Avid fixed the Noise Blasts – it’s the least Avid can do, to protect you and your clients from potential ear-damage If you have a VST host (like Blue Cat’s PatchWork) – instantiate the free Ice9 Automute by Cerberus Audio on the Master "Ice9 Automute’s soft-muting function will begin to attenuate the gain before a single sample over the threshold has passed. Instantaneous radical attenuation will occur if the threshold is exceeded by a severe and potentially dangerous amount." https://freevstplugins.net/cerberus-...ice9-automute/

Re: The old pop/static on playback
Thanks for the reply. Yes I am in talks with avid about an upgrade so they should take about a year. The ice9 I should have mentioned in my done list, was of little use. I'v switched to Logic Pro x for now, and it's not to shabby.
