Default PT 7.4 running like [bleep]

G5 Imac, 2.1gig processor, 2.5 gig RAM, Mac OS 10.4.10
Digi 002, Music Production Toolkit, PT 7.4 LE

Hi all,

I recenltly bought a 002 mixer with music production toolkit (it came with PT 7.1)

It was working fine until I installed 7.4 (digi emailed me 7.4 when I registered the 002)

When I have a couple of plug ins running the system seems to get maxed out and PT and my mac then freeze.

Seems a shame as I would like to use 7.4 but will have to go back to 7.1 Called Digi about this. They told me to download a script which would fix this, however it doesnt work. They then told me that PT 7.4 will not work properly with OSX 10.4.10

Whats your experinve of 7.4 anyone else got similiar problems or solutions? Could it be the plug ins? What a pain in the ass.

Cheers

Ironfin

This absolutely could be plug-ins. Have you verified that all installed plug-ins are Pro Tools 7.4 compatible?

Which tech support office did you speak to - the U.S. or a different office?

Might this help?

Pro Tools 7.4 Plug-In Updates for Mac OS X, Windows Vista, and Windows XP

I also installed some freeware RTAS plug ins, so it may also be them.

How do I uninstall plug ins. Is deleting them from the Pro Tools folder enough?

Many thanks

You can just remove them from the Plug-Ins folder located at MacHD>Library>Application Support>Digidesign>Plug-Ins.
