Laptop firewire & external hard drive question
Good morning, I've got a 4 pin fire wire connection on my laptop to which I've connected a firewire hub.. To that hub, I've got two hard drives, one my session hd, and the other my backup hd. Also connected to the hub is my Project Mix I/O.. I'm running MP 8.0.3 with 4 gig Ram on an Asus G60 VX . Is this connection scheme o.k? Thank you

Re: Laptop firewire & external hard drive question
I am quite new to firewire but I think it is not so good to use a hub. With firewire 800, you can chain the equipment : computer -> HD1 -> HD2 - Audio card.

Re: Laptop firewire & external hard drive question
Thanks for the insight.. the PCI card on my laptop is a new configuration, and my card doesn't fit... I think it's called a PCI-X. It's the same width as the older slot, but inside, the back end has two depths... I was hoping to find a supported PCI card but don't know which one would be supported? Thanks again.
