Status update from the support rep who I have been talking with:

Hopefully this new version works like it should. It was a royal pain to go back to 2020 version. I really don't want to do it a second time.

LOL. Well, the 16th has come and gone.

Apparently there was a bug in the release date too.

On Monday Avid said 2021.6 was a few days away. This may give some insight on their perception of time.
To me few has always been 3 couple 2 or maybe that’s a Aussie thing?

3 couple 2 might be an Aussie thing. Does it mean 3 times 2? Or 3 squared? In the US, "a few days" can mean anything from a half a week to two weeks.
