Best way to run Vienna Instruments
Contemplating a Mac mini connected to my Mac Pro trashcan via ethernet cable and running Ensemble Pro 5. Want to load the Mac mini with the complete Vienna Special Editions. Have Vienna Suite Pro on my main Mac now with Vienna Instruments Pro 2. Going to add the Vienna Mir Pro as well. Right now we run a Sonnet Echo Express III -R with a Tempo SSD Pro Plus card with two Samsung 840 Evo Pros running Thunderbolt 2, holding the Vienna sound libraries. Here is the question. Will the Mac mini set up be faster, and should we install all the Vienna software on the Mac mini, i.e. Mir pro, VI Po 2, V Suite Pro ? We are going to up grade the SSD's on the Tempo SSD card to the fastest market SSD's at this time and just use those for other VI's and keep the Vienna items on the Mac mini. Was also thinking about The Black Magic MultiDock Thunderbolt 2 in place of the Tempo SSD Pro Plus card. Have knowledge of Thunderbolt 3, I am sure all products will be upgraded to 3 as well. Another question would be, perhaps running the Vienna Instruments library on the latest SSD's in Thunderbolt 2 on the Tempo SSD Pro Plus Card and installing all VI software on the Mac Pro trashcan. then running all our other VI's on the Black Magic MultiDock with plug in and plug out SSD's with library's on them? Any actual experience or knowledge would be appreciated. We would like to save time and money from experimenting. Thank you for your time.
