Default My audio track is recording my aux click track.

My audio track is recording my aux click track.

I’ve got some sort of weird feedback loop that means every time I try to record some audio from my microphone, it also records the click track on a separate aux channel. I’m probably going to bang my head against the wall when I realise how simple the answer is, but would really appreciate some help.

I’m using Pro Tools m-powered with an M-Audio Audiophile 2496 PCI sound card, a Behringer Xenyx 802 mixing desk and the Rode NT1-A condenser. If anybody is au fait with these products and can help me out I would really appreciate it.

I’m almost certain it’s the wiring that I’ve got messed up.

PS It’s not recording the click track through the Mic as I’m using headphones to listen to the click.

Thanks in advance.

No, but then I can't hear the click track to play along to either.

Bunderson. Try setting the Aux/Click track to "No out" if you have it set to same output as the other tracks. I have a similiar system to yours and I always use an Aux track for metronome click track without any issue. I am not at my system now so I cannot say the exact settings.

I do need to hear it as I'm trying to record a guitar riff, this is the problem. I think I may have my wiring with the mixing desk incorrect.

If I have the aux track set to "No Output" then I can't hear the click.

Does anybody know anything about how to wire up the xenyx 802? I'm having issues with it feeding the output of my sound card back into it again. It's causing feedback and the problem I'm having with it recording the click.
