Hi Eddie, the Midi RX light on the Xmon does not flicker when hooked up to the Uno.

Thanks Eddie. Pretty sure you are correct. Last night, after reviewing the breakout cable pdf, I believe I have pin 4 and pin 5 swapped. I used the midi cable diagram on the pdf, which shows a female connector. But I built the cable with male connectors, so pin 4 pin 5 swap. My bad all along. Doh!! I'll be able to test this tomorrow at the studio, but I'm sure it's going to work now. Thanks for your's and MrDibS help!

Well, I still don't have it working. Since I'm using male midi connectors (instead of female in the drawing), I thought swapping pin + and - would work for me. It didn't. Not sure what to check next...

I can't be sure what isn't right but I can share pictures of my dB25 connections. The grey wires are the midi cables. They are male connectors as well.

Hi. Did you get it to work? I'm waiting for my XMON to arrive (bought on Ebay) and I have same setup as yours (Pro Tools HD 10 on Windows 7 PC). Yes, you're not the last one to use PT10HD ;-)

Best regards,

S

I just made XMON breakout MIDI cable and all works great from the first try. I soldered connectors rather than use bulky terminal breakout board. It's easy to make and requires minimal soldering skills.

If anyone needs help with making the cable, ask here and I'll try to help.

Cheers!

Suad

What schematic did you use as there’s been some confusion as to what’s correct for the MIDI wiring. Thanks in advance!

Greetings!

Bumping this thread. It seems the links in this thread to the cable wiring have all gone dead. Anybody still have this information who would be willing to pass it along!

Thanks!
