Default PT 9 with AMD 6 core processor?

Is anyone here using PT9 on Windows 7 with an AMD 6 core processor?
If so, any issues?
Thanks,
Kent

I had 8.0.1 running on it with Vista 32 with an original MBox without any issues whatsoever. PT9 should run fine or possibly even a little better than 8.x did on the same hardware. That computers on loan with to a friend with the MBox and I'm not planning on updating it to PT9 so I can't state definitively that it will work for you. But I don't for see any problems related to the underlying hardware.

The hardware was

Phenom X6 HT1055
Gigabyte MA785GM-US2H
4GB of G.Skill DDR2 1066
Vista Buisness 32bit
MBox

I say go for it.

Considering this as a backup machine. Were you running the onboard video or separate graphics? How 'bout the onboard firewire?

Well the point of building it was to see how cheap one could build a working rig. It was really built to test the 99.00 Athlon Quad core against the 99.00 Core 2 Duo E7400. Both the AMD and the Intel boards used the onboard graphics. the AMD had the ATI HD4200 and the Intel had the GMA 4500. Both ran fine for me. I had a video card ready to go but never needed it.

As I recall the Firewire on both was fine with the 002 but I did the testing on 8.0.1 with a MBox2 Mini since I wanted to see if there was a difference between the Original MBox and the MBox2 Mini as far as Dverbs went.

If its important I can drag a 002 over some time to check the AMD board out. It's running Vista 32 not XP SP3 now FWTW.

No worries on the 002 testing. I would use Windows 7 anyway. I see that x6 is not showing up on newegg. I would guess any of the new 6 cores should work fine

They are shuffling the line up a bit. I think they may have bumped the speed on the one I bought slightly and renumbered it.

if you have a AM3 socket i believe you can upgrade from a Phenome II x4. i think the X6 is just drop in and it works.

For anyone buying the X6.. don't bother getting the fastest one.. I have mine overclocked to 3.81GHZ easy and I've seen them as high as 4.5GHZ online..
