I'm close to beginning to order components to build a new system, so I appreciate seeing what you put into your rig. I was wondering about the i9. Did you get your components through NewEgg, or elsewhere?

How many SSD's are using in your rig?

Thanks
My plan lapsed. No biggie though, and 2020.5 works great for me. I got my components from NewEgg. For now, I'm using 3 internal Samsung SATA ssd's, re-used from my previous build. My i9 build is stable and crazy powerful. Very happy with it!

Hi.

My old mobo (Asus Prime x299-a) wont boot any longer.
I get the following message :

USB device over current status detected!! The system will shut down after 15 seconds

Nothing has helped so im looking for a new motherboard.
Found the following two alternatives :

Prime X299 Edition 30 or Prime X299-Deluxe II.

https://www.asus.com/Motherboards-Co...99-Edition-30/

https://www.asus.com/Motherboards-Co...299-DELUXE-II/

I se they both have dual lan. Anybody know if i should avoid dual lan with PT Ultimate or does it work well?

Do you have any USB sticks inserted, specifically with Waves' License on one? My Z87-Pro motherboard stopped posting until I removed that. It was okay for quite some time with that USB, and then one day just wouldn't post.

I removed everything. Also disconnected everything from the motherboard except the graphics card but still didn’t work.

So im looking for a new moherboard.

i wonder if pro tools handles motherboards with two lan ports?

I'm getting solid performance from Gigabyte. My old/previous Gigabyte build was a stable workhorse for 10+ years. It was still working great, but I finally decided to upgrade to a Gigabyte Z590 Vision D. Hopefully, I'll get 10+ years from it!

I'm using a I7 5960x 8 core on an ASUS X99-A motherboard. I want to install an HDX card in it and use PT Ultimate. I9 is listed as minimum for Ultimate. Are thee successful users using this configuration? Thanks!

You might want to post this question in the "Pro Tools HDX & HD Native Systems (Win)" sub-forum.
