Default PT8 Questions

1) Has anyone found any high resolution screenshots of the Mix & Edit Window online?

2) Did Pro Tools add Non Real-Time Bounce, like Logic?

Thanks!

PT8 is real and running. I was at Digi last night talking w/ some of the developers. There is lots of new UI code, making it much more efficient for the developers to make UI changes. (And the users - as in the new modifiable toolbar)

Offline bouncing is likely to never be a part of PT, at least PTHD, because any audio process in TDM runs in real time on hardware.

Does anybody know if they have got rid of the stupid loop trim tool in PT8. Or at least let us lock the tools so we don't have to keep scrolling back round to the one we were using.

Is there 7.1 for Dolby/DTS HD home theater in PT8?

Another question... I've posted this on both LE forums until they finally died with no reply.

How many busses does Pro Tools 8 LE have?

Pro Tools 6 LE had 16 busses.
Pro Tools 7 LE had 32 busses.

Surely Digi has updated the bus count... especially with the Complete Production Toolkit? (Seems like $2000 + 7.1 capability would be a waste without [at the very, very, very least] 64 busses)

Anyone out there know the answer?

Looks like from what i can see they have done away with the left and right paddles for a stereo channel and gone with a single balance pot. So does that mean there is just a single pan/balance view in the automation window.

For those of you interested. I emailed Scott Church about my question above, and he made a cool chart outlining tracks/busses/instruments/etc. in Pro Tools 8 and added it to FAQs in his Pro Tools Blog.

Talk about Customer Service!

Thanks Scott!!
