Default Varying speeds on playback

I just upgraded from 4.1 to 5.1 - yea, I know, it's about time. Anyway-when I play back my recording the track is way fast or way slow-never consistent. Then I go into Playback engine and set the db boost to +3 or so and it's fine-how can I have this preset so that I don't have to worry about this and record and playback ore fine?
Anyone...
Thanks!
