Default PT 11 buss issues/efficiency?

I got the PT11 upgrade when it came out and have been playing with it a bit. Yesterday I decided to write a song on it, since I have Waves, Stylus and SoundToys all in AAX format. I created a drum track in Stylus, just copying and pasting sections till I got about 3 minutes of stuff I liked. Then I recorded 3 or 4 bass tracks, fiddling till I got a keeper. I did this at a buffer size of 32. Next I set up some busses with reverb and echo for my melody parts, created a mono audio track and added sends to the FX busses. All is good and I record about a dozen tracks until I got a nice melody and solo. All this played well at 32, even with the FX plugins.

Then I decided to setup some submix aux tracks and buss my drums and melodies to them. As soon as I created the submixes I was unable to get PT to play without throwing errors and stopping, even at 1024! This is how I normally work and this as been fine in all previous versions of PT.

I was wondering if anyone else has seen this? It looks like an issue with bussing

What errors?

What exactly were you doing when you got them?

the regular "CPU Overload, remove some plugins or change the buffer..." and I was mixing. basically I couldn't playback until I got rid of the busses I had the tracks routed to!

Not really using 11 yet do to the plugin situation, but when I have tested opening the same session in 10 and 11 the CPU usage is always higher in 11 and spikes much more.
Also, 11 seems to max out the CPU whenever any other program is opened.
spikes to red and then settles down.

just started up my computer and reloaded my project. I got rid of all my extraneous tracks, went through my IO and deleted any unused busses and outputs. then I added a single new buss and aux track and routed the aux to that buss and out through the main out. then I routed my solo track to that buss. it plays perfectly now, even at a buffer size of 32. I have several instances of the Metric Halo C/S, the Avid C/S, a D-Verb, An Echo Boy, and an instance of Maxim on the Main out.

go figure...

Please post here if it happens again and I can follow up with you via PM. The things you outlined are pretty straight forward and shouldn't typically result in errors.
