Windows 10 optimizations for PT HD 12.x

Hey y'all-

After much Googling and a whole bunch of reading over the past week, I was struck by a thought:

Ask for insights from DUC members!

Beyond Avid's ( http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/t...ndows-10-Guide ), what do you y'all do to tweak/optimize the newest release of PT HD & Windows 10?

Our hardware config is in my signature, and I simply used another SSD to do clean installs of the newest OS & PT versions. Everything is working, and there's no CPU overclocking.

Thanks in advance for the thoughts and tips.

A couple of things they DON'T tell you....
Go into BIOS and see if there's a floppy drive controller. If there is, disable it.
Make sure, in Control Panel/Sounds, that Windows is not using your main interface as the default sound device.
Disable all USB power management.

Let's compile a definitive "Windows 10/Pro Tools 12 Optimization List" (beyond the AVID recommendations) and make it a sticky. Perhaps
guitardom and others will chime-in.

The Avid optimizations are all pretty straightforward... How about a listing of unnecessary services, background apps, etc. to free-up the system?
