Digital loop

When I try to play a session it sounds awful. Like theres a digital loop in the system or something. I've checked everything I know too, this happened all of the sudden. I havent changed anything recently, all settings are default. Has anyone ran in to this? Im almost ready to uninstall/reinstall.. not sure what else to do.

Im running a Mac OS X 3.2 Ghz Intel Core i3 8Gb 1067 DDR3 with pro tools 9. Using a mackie ONYX 820i as my hardware.

Did you solve this? Do you hear anything that suggests a feedback loop when Pro Tools is stopped, or is it only during playback? What happens if you choose your Mac's internal soundcard as playback device? Does the noise/feedback disappear?

I ended up uninstalling/reinstalling Pro Tools. now when I try to play the session, the green "Play" button on the transport window lights up, and the red "stop" button immediately lights up stopping the playback from happening... So frustrating... ever ran into this?
