Default Pro Tools sudden "missing iLok" message when connected external USB devices.

This is not very often but still occurring bug when I connect my Sony PCM-D1 recorder to the USB port in front of my Mac Pro tower.
Pro Tools will pop up the message, offering to save or quit.
I understand that PT is always looking for the iLok connected to machine, but it should be something more forgiving to let some devices to be connected to machine. May be they suck to much power of USB bus thus short dropouts may take place.
Avid I don't know if I am technically right but please do something with it.
BTW: my Sound Miner v4Pro dongle doesn't go down when this happens to PT. And they are both connected to the same USB hub behind the machine.
Neither keyboard stop working - just the iLok. And the green light is on.
My iLok is in perfect condition, 1-st generation, green one.

Anyone else have seen this?

Honestly I have never heard of powered USB hub.
And it's also happens when I connect all devices directly to a computer.

Did I try to restart the computer and trash all PT preferences?
Really, I understand that you are trying to help.
But maybe my post rating says that I might know thing or two about PT.
It's ok if you can't help. It's also possible that it's my specific problem and no one else experiences it.
But please don't bring solutions if you have no idea what causes the problem and why.
Please no offense.
Peace!

No I had the same problem on one of the station I manage (pt9) , it was coming from the ilok driver.

a driver reinstallation and a repair disk permission fixed the issue.

Maybe you should have a look in your log to see if there is a trace, i had some entries that pointed to the ilok driver not working properly when a sxs card reader was used on the same usb bus

I don't give a f*** about your post count, no offense.
