Thinking of upgrading laptop to use 003 Factory
I have a Gateway MT6728, 2gb, windows 7 home premium 32-bit, and using Pro Tools LE 8.0.3. I am planning on upgrading to windows 7 professional and getting a larger hard drive and getting the SIIG NN-EC2012-S1 1394 ExpressCard. I'm pretty sure my laptop is maxed out on ram, but I would think these upgrades should give me no problems with using 003 Factory. I know if I want to get the most out of using more tracks I would need more memory, but most I would use is 14 I think.
Do you think this will work or would it be a complete waste of time? Thanks for any help. |

Re: Thinking of upgrading laptop to use 003 Factory
Don't you only have 2 slots of 4 gigs? Make sure your drive is 7200, and were you planning on writing to the external express card? Whats the difference between premium and professional? If everything else is compatible it should do the job.

Re: Thinking of upgrading laptop to use 003 Factory
I have 2 slots of 1gb, and I looked online and found out I'm maxed out. The drive I was looking at is 5400, would it work if I got one that is 7200? My connection is SATA.
Yes, I was planning on writing to the external express card. I would need professional to use with 003 Factory I think. The requirements say vista business or ultimate, but I'm running windows 7, so I would think professional is just like business. |
