Default Saving file as mp3

When i record a vocal, how can i save it into a mp3 format? Or how do i open what i recorded with something other than Pro Tools?

After you have recorded the vocal track, consolidate the track if necessary, and export region as file, choose mp3. (Select the region you want exported, and hit shift+Cntl+K)
