Default Magic Mouse lost it's magic

Not a big scale thing, but the magic mouse I use is misbehaving. Thinking of getting a Magic Trackpad as a replacement.
Do they function well within the workflow of a DAW?

Personally, I find trackpads useful for certain functions, namely pinch and zoom, or as a make-do "X-Y pad" for writing automation with some plug-ins.

Personally, I find the "trackball" input devices the best for DAW precision. The one I have has a scroll wheel and 4 buttons, which with SteerMouse app on MacOS, I have running "chords" as well (press upper right and lower right at same time for "command + h" for example).

Pro Tools already allows for a great deal of quick command work flows, but there are those random instances still where the user goes "but I want this command here instead".

I'm not saying a trackpad would not be useful in certain circumstances, but that I like the multi-button trackballs, as I said, for their precision and flexibility.

I don't know if this will help at all.
I use three magic mice, and one of them is misbehaving slightly. Usually after the mac being idle over night, it has a slight slowness or unpresicion. No problems with charge or bluetooth connection. I turn it off, and on again, it reconnects, and I immediately feel the responsiveness is back.

Yes that's the behaviour I see with mine as well, though sometimes even though it's not low in charge, it takes being plugged in for it to get back to normal.
Thanks for the info. I have a trackball somewhere in the depths of my computer stuff. Maybe I will give it a go.

I changed to a Magic Trackpad 4 years ago, best move I ever made, so many gestures, and no chance of RSi!

Same here as well. Almost always after it sits overnight. I don't even reset it, it just tends to smooth out after 20 seconds or so of use.

As for the merits of the Magic Mouse, it's all I use these days.
