Default Re: Mac OS X \'Tiger\' compatibility information.

Ok, so here's my major gripe,

Fair enough, digi has to actually write and test this update but It is just not good enough to make us who have bought Tiger pre-installed G5's and 002's wait around for an update that will make our gear actually function. When I bought my 002, the last thing I thought about was if digi was compatible with tiger. "Stupid move" you might say but this was because never in my wildest dreams did I think that the monster company of audio apps and hardware would be so far behind the times.

I have written many posts here in this forum and I still have no response from this lame arse company who claims to respect and value their customers. Often, I have found that the companies who make industry standard software are complacent with thier customer support. I have spent a great deal of money to purchase my 002 and I am absolutely flabbergasted by this companies attitude to new customers. You could atleast send us an "were sorry you spent money on our gear that doesn't work" but no, I have even had posts deleted from this forum becuase they ask questions digi does not want to answer.

I would be very interested and curious to actually know what is so hard about this update. I am actually keen to know, not in a sarcastic way. If you cannot tell me when I can have my 002 up and running (and don't tell me 8 to 10 weeks!) then atleast tell me why. I'm not sure Digi understands the level of frustration out here in the real world. I live in a small town and I know of 2 other people who live here who are waiting for this update for thier Tiger pre-installed machines. How do those numbers extrapolate to the rest of the globe? 100? 1000? maybe 10000 users who are waiting in limbo with no ongoing updates on the progress of this issue.

Answer me digi! I have surely written enough posts by now...

Here's another song for y'all

Cheers, the Sandwich.

Help, I need an update,
Help, not just any update,
Help, you know I need that update, help.

When I was younger, so much younger than today,
I never needed anybody’s update in any way.
But now these days are gone, I’m not so self assured,
Now I find I’ve changed my mind and my 002 is flawed.

Help me if you can, My Studio's down
And I don't appreciate the lack of sound.
Help me, get my 002 back up before I frown,
Won’t you please, please help me.

And now my life has changed in oh so many ways,
My 001 seems to have vanished in the haze.
But every now and then I feel so insecure,
I know that I just need digi like I’ve never done before.

Help me if you can, My Studio's down
And I don't appreciate the lack of sound.
Help me, get my 002 back up before I frown,
Won’t you please, please help me.

oh yeah baby 002 yeah let's get it on update doo wop doo wop yeah.

Saying things like "Digis too slow on typing a few lines of code" isn't gonna help. Let's instead show some support and wish them good luck with developing a stable and hopingly quick release!
that's it good just hold still and I wil get that brown off your nose.

Thats funny Sandwitch.
(with a PH = Phunny)

Do you do requests? How'bout "broken digi blues"...
...or if digi dont deliver with the update: "Give it away, Give it away, Give it away, Give it away now."

....oh! or the James brown classic "Its a Windows World"

And just to rub salt into the wounds in this thread: I'm running an 002R, LE 6.4, and OS 10.3.9 and it works flawlessly....

Got my digi working, but it just won't work on yours
Got my digi working, but it just won't work on yours
Its gonna make you so mad till digi fix all the flaws

I'm going down to Louisiana to get me a digi hand
I'm going down to Louisiana to get me a digi hand
I'm gonna have all you women right here at my command

Got my digi working
Got my digi working
Got my digi working
Got my digi working
Got my digi working, but it just won't work on yours

Record on!

Got my digi working
Got my digi working
Got my digi working
Got my digi working
Got my digi working, but it - uh uh - just won't work on yours

Ps: I'm not sure why having a working digi would leave women in my command, but its true. Really. Just ask Muddy Waters he'll tell you.

Anyway, I guess you guys will never know...

Default G5 2*2.3

Hi

Digi please answer this.

I have a chance of buying a new 2*2.3 G5 for a very good price if I buy it now.
Do you know for sure, that machine will be compatible when your testing is done? In other words, can I go buy that machine now and be sure that it will work with Tiger and LE with a 002 when your testing is done?

Wishing for a fast answer.

Cheers.

Happy TDM owner.
LE Rookie.

Default THE SANDWICH IS BACK

Well, here I am back again, getting my post out rather early today. who knows, maybe I'll do two posts today.

Here's my latest addition;

BABY GOT UPDATE

Oh, my, god. Becky, look at her 002.
It is so useless. *scoff* It looks like,
one of those crap guys' interfaces.
But, y'know, who understands those crap interfaces *scoff*
Digi only ignores to us, because,
it works like a total doorstop!
I mean, this update, is just so big. *scoff*
I can't believe it's taking this long, it's like,
out there, I mean - come on, Look!
It's just so ... slack!

[Sir Mix-a-Lot]
I like big digis and I can not lie
You other brothers can't deny
That when a girl walks in with an itty bitty 002
And a G5 in your face
You get shafted, wanna pull out your tongue
'Cause you notice that 002 was stuffed
Deep in the code she's updating
I'm hooked and I can't stop posting
Oh 002, I wanna get wit'cha
And take your picture
My MOTU rep tried to warn me
But with that update you got makes me feel so horny
Ooh, Rump-o'-smooth-update
You say you wanna get in my Mac?
Well, code me, code me
'Cause you ain't that average company
I've seen 002's working'
The hell with panther! '
She's dead and gone
Get it goin' like a turbo Tiger!
I'm tired of all your warnings
Sayin' 002's and Tiger ain't the thing
Take the average 002 and ask it that
It'l pack a punch back at 'cha
So, fellas! (Yeah!) Fellas! (Yeah!)
Has your Studio got the shakes (Hell yeah!)
Tell 'em to write this update!
Shake that healthy code
Baby got update

(LA face with Oakland booty)
Baby got update

[Sir Mix-a-Lot]
I like 'em 8 channels, and big
And when I'm throwin' a gig
I just can't help myself, I'm almost actin' like a TDM user
Now here's my scandal
I wanna take it home
And ugh, double-up, ugh, ugh
I ain't talkin' bout MOTU's
'Cause them there parts are made as toys
I want 002's real thick and juicy
So find that juicy LE Update
Digidesign's in trouble
Beggin' for a piece of that Update
So I'm lookin' at forum posts
Watchin' these TDM users walkin' like Heroes
You can have them HD's
I'll keep my 002 like Flo Jo
A word to the 001 soul sistas, I wanna get with ya
I won't cuss or hit ya
But I gotta be straight when I say I want digi to code
Til the break of dawn
Digi got it goin' on
A lot of Digis staff won't like this song
'Cause them punks like to drag it out
And I'd rather stay and play
'Cause I'm long, and I'm strong
And I'm down to get the update on
So, ladies! {Yeah!} Digi {Yeah}
If you wanna role in my Mac {Yeah!}
Thengo to work! Code it out!
Even Digi boys got to code
Baby got update!

Baby got back!
Yeah, baby ... when it comes to updates, Digi ain't got nothin'
to do with speedy turnarounds. 3-24-4036? Ha ha, only if thats the date of the update release

[Sir Mix-a-Lot]
So your girlfriend rolls a 002, playin' absolutely nothin' in Pro Tools
But 002 ain't got a motor in the back of her plastic case
My Tiger Mac don't want none
Unless you've got updates, hun
You can do BETA's or Pre-Releases,
But please don't lose that update
Some users wanna play that "HD" role
And tell you that the update ain't easy
So they tell us to quit it and leave it
SoI pull up www.digidesign.com to retrieve it
Digi says you're out of luck
Well How much does that suck!
'Cause your studio is small and your ideas are kickin'
And I'm thinkin' bout stickin'
my 002 in the local rubbish dump
You ain't getting it! , This Thing!
Give me a update, I can't resist it
Tiger and 002 didn't make friends
Some knucklehead tried to downgrade to panther
So his G5 under Panther ran at 80 Degrees
He had courage and even though the downgrade to Panther was naughty
Tiger made the temp go back to Forty
So Digi, if the update is around,
And you want your customer base to calm down
Dial 1-900-GET-THE-UPDATE-DONE-NOW-ALBERT...
So we kick 'dem nasty thoughts
Baby got update

(Little in the difference from Panther to Tiger but it's taking sooooo long) [4x]

Wow, this is getting really out of control. Come on, somebody out-do me!! I dare yas!
PS. Baron you are a funny dude indeed.

Default Re: THE SANDWICH IS BACK

Just like the Blues, adversity can act as inspiration. This seems to be true here on the Forum. But if I were Digidesign, I would read very carefully. There is a growing dissatisfaction not with Pro Tools itself, but with the company that makes it. I work for a Network that has many Pro Tools systems and everyone of the operators complains about bad decision making on the part of Digidesign. I use a Fairlight/SSL system at work, but enjoy mixing spots on LE at home. I can see basic operating frustations that could be addressed if Digidesing had closer relationships with it's users. I don't know how it works there, but it would seem that there is much room for improvement.

Hey sandwichface Please continue to waste your time and entertain us here in the land excuses. Can you start by telling us the origins of your name, it will help pass the endless months of waiting.

Digi, here's a quarter perhaps you can phone someone that knows how to write some code... tell you how to overcome this insurmountalbe challenge that seems to be localized to your program....do want us to take up a collection to buy you a copy of 'OS X programming for dummies'?

absolutely right sandwichface! I would take it a step further. we have all lost much time with this problem. I think digi should make ut to us by giving away extra free plugins (I mean that we would have to pay for under normal circumstances) to all new customers who also bougr a new G5. It would be the least thing to do! If they do not apologize with a bonus, I think it will leave a dark spot on digi's history. God knows how many costomers they have lost already because of this story. Someone earlier on this thread said that we are making too much fuss, and that it will all be forgotten when the upgrade comes. I do not thik so. for my part I will remember it! I do believe that digi is working hard to solve the problem, who knows, it might be a really hard nut to crack! There might be more to it then we susspect. They are probably quite embarrassed by now, and might not be able to answer. by the time the answer comes the upgrade will probably come also. have never in my whole life bought a new product... not being able to use it for so long. I think this story will be a legend!!!!!

like your songs by the way......

how about this one:

We am waiting, we am waiting,
For the upgrade, to be released
we am waiting, for our digi
to be workin', to be free!

Can you hear us? Can you hear us?
Digi hear us, won't you please!
We are crying, forever dying
To be recording, to be free!

I think we should keep these songs for future generations.
