Default Surrender License and Return to 8
Does anyone know if its possible to surrender the PT9 license, get a refund and go back to 8?

Your best bet is to contact customer service. If they can not resolve your problem, they might offer to refund your purchase/crossgrade price and deactivate your iLok authorization for PT9.

Why would you want to go back to PT 8? In my experience, PT 9 is a substantially more feature rich and stable release, plus it comes with an Ilok authorization for PT 8 as well. That way you can go back to using PT 8 and move to PT 9 when you're in a better place to do so. My guess is that Avid will tell you the same thing since you've already purchased the software.

because its buggy and not stable. I don't make money beta testing and trouble shooting for software companies, I make it recording. If my system doesn't work, then no clients. The few times it has worked its great! don't get me wrong.

Its just not working out for me right now.

That's understandable. In that case, it might be best for you to go back to PT 8 if you know it'll work better for you. PT 9 can only get better from here with every cs fix Avid releases.

Perhaps you could describe your problems? There may be a solution we could help with...

If I am not mistaken, the PT9 license will also still allow you to use PT8.

There is a Letter of Destruction form you can fill out and get a refund on your purchase here
