HELP! static bursts random - ignited in playback

I am getting all of a sudden static bursts randomly only in playback - it can continue though after I stop the palyback for a few seconds. This is KILLING my ears and my speakers. Anyone have this problem or have a lead on the solution?

With Windows 7, you need to update to 8.0.5. If that doesn't help, then post a Sandra report as described in the Help us Help you thread(link at the top of every DUC page). Are you running any IK Multimedia plugins? Those emit white noise every few seconds if they lose their authorization(which can happen if you restore from a drive image).

BTW, I assume you mean Mbox 2 mini(as there was not a mini version of the Mbox 1, which is not compatible with Windows 7 and 8.0.5).

Thanks for the info - I am runnng Protools LE 8.0.4.
The Mbox is just the mboxmini as I don't see a 01 or 02 with it.

I bought it in 2011 January.

Only using the Pro tools plug ins on this session.

I will try updateing to 8.0.5 and hope that does it.

I'm having this exact problem with Sibelius playback. Was a solution ever found? I have the most recent version of Windows 7 and I use a Creative SB sound card.
