Default Sennheiser 3D Ambeo Smart Headset

This looks like a great way to record on the go with a price point we can all afford:

These look great, thanks for the heads up.

The problem I always found with binaural in ear recording was eliminating wind noise. I wonder if they have a solution for that?
Furry ear muffs maybe? Rycote are you listening.

The furr only is not gonna help. There should be some enclosure like basket / zeppelin in order to eliminate wind. I tried 2 DPAs 4060 in this configuration but at the end dropped the idea because I couldn’t solve the wind problem. And I had overcovers by Rycote.
Another problem is the Sennheiser miniature mics which I never liked as much as I do my DPA’s 4060/1 or even Sanken cos11.
Having said that their MKH series is outstanding.

I've had some Soundman binaurals that I've used for years, but these look cool because of the lightning connector.
I wonder how noisy the pre-amp is?
Are they using the I Phone as a pre-amp?

I use Sonic Studios "WHB" rig... if you google it, their website will make your brain hurt, but the product is good.

I put RODE "dead kitten" fur on each one. Wind reduction is quite good due to dead air space.

Interested to hear the "Smart Headset" of course, talk about a "compact travel rig"
