Default Where to install plugins

Should I be installing my plugins on my external drive or my system drive?

I think BFD recommends installing to the external firewire drive.

Is this best in most or all cases?

Also, when I upgrade to 7.4, will I have to re-install all my plugins?

You should be installing the plugins themselves to the system drive.

Nope. Read it carefully; is recommends installing the samples to a separate drive, not the plugin.

For Pro Tools (and actually, any other audio apps, IMHO) you should be installing all plugins to the system drive. Samples? Separate drive, but the plugins should be on the system drive.

Re-install? You shouldn't have to. Update to the latest version? Highly recommended.
